I started 4 weeks ago. I noticed right away that my blood sugars went down to normal. I just had my Drs appointment yesterday and my A1C went from to 7. My dr was very pleased with my number. I take novo log insulin in the day time which I haven’t taken since I started glucocil. I take levmir insulin at night I cut it down from 34 units to 20 and my numbers were still in the 40 in the morning. So working on that. 40 is way to low. I do have kidney disease so I’m kind of worried about that but again my number dropped .20 on that so it is better. So just going to take one day at a time. As far as I know I have had no side affects. So I hope this will work because last year I paid $3,700 for my medicine. Don’t like taking all the shots either. So good luck everyone.

I purchased the total lean protein podwer…cookies and cream….and planning on tasting french vanilla…but I been doing great ..I have one for breakfast on the go and 1 during lunch time….it makes it easier for me to get my protein and still not be hunger….and for dinner I have a my dinner…I a salad plate of whatever I’m going to eat…nothing …different of my dinner had to change…but my portion size cause I change my plate size…which don’t give me room to put much food on my plate….so I’ve been on it for 2 weeks and I lost 5 lbs…..I drink plenty of the day..and after shake..because of it thickness…for digesting…but I’m going to try the vegan vegetable and the French vanilla together with 1 scoop each….to get my vegetable in take when I’m not eating enough veggies…I would probably be on this product for long term….it’s easy…and satisfying…for on the go.

This dish would work really well in a slow cooker too – low for about 6 hours. If cooking in the slow cooker, I recommend removing meat once cooked, shredding and adding back to the sauce before serving, as the sauce will not reduce down as much when slow cooked.

  • 8 Chicken thighs or 3 chicken breasts (any visible fat removed), sliced into strips
  • 1 can of diet coke (or use regular coke - 7 syns)
  • ½ cup (120ml) of tomato paste (puree)
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup (240ml) of chicken broth
  • salt and black pepper to season
  • fresh chopped Italian parsley
  • optional: add some chilli powder for a bit of heat
Method
  1. Add the chicken to a deep frying pan.
  2. Pour in the coke, add the tomato paste, balsamic vinegar and chicken broth.
  3. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to a slow bubble and allow to simmer until sauce reduces down and thickens and chicken is cooked through.
  4. Season as needed with salt and black pepper
  5. Sprinkle with freshly chopped Italian parsley.
  6. Serve with your choice of sides (I served with rice and sauteed veg)
